5 Reasons to Pursue a Book

In a man’s Tv room, he reaches lazily for the remote to the tv, but can he do something else?

These days many people believe that books are obsolete, however, I have five things that say otherwise.

  1. Books allow for more “Scope for the imagination.”  Books will suck anyone into their pages. And you can also craft what you want to see when you read a book. Gandalf may look different to many people in The Lord of the Rings saga. While reading a book, anyone can craft what the world looks like.
  2. Books will almost always have more depth. To go back to The Lord of the Rings saga, when anyone reads the book and then watches the movie, he will always say the book has much more to it.
  3. Books have more time to develop the characters. In most circumstances characters in books will almost always be more developed than the ones in movies. Because the author has more time to develop the characters, readers usually have a major connection with most of the characters in books.
  4. The stories are longer. In almost all circumstances the stories in a book are much longer than movies have time for. Most movies are one and a half to two hours long, whereas, most of Charles Dickens’s novels can take up to ten hours to read.
  5. Almost always people learn more when reading books. Because books are longer, people learn more. It is about as simple as that. Movies are made to entertain, books are made to both entertain and educate. This all being said, there are exceptions to every rule, and there are some movies that were crafted skillfully. There are also some books that were crafted poorly.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Thank you for listening, and I hope I convinced some people to read a book today. If I have not, I do hope I have laid out the reasons to read a book well.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Sincerely,                                                                                                                                                                            –Jeremy

  1. I would also like to add that reading a book is better for your eyes. You don’t have all the flashes and changing angles.
